SARA TERTAWA

Bahan cerita : Kejadian 17:15-22, Kejadian 18:1-15, Kejadian 21:1-7

Ayat hafalan :

Berdasar Brown - Driver - Brigg Hebrew Definitions,
Kata “Ishak” = Isaac = “he laughs” = yitschâq (Ibrani) mempunyai arti sbb:

BDB Definition:
Son of Abraham by Sarah his wife and father of Jacob and Esau

WordStudy:
yiṣḥāq: A proper noun designating Isaac, the promised son and heir of Abraham and the Lord's promises to him (Gen. 15; Gen_26:1-6). His name means "he laughs" (cf. Gen_17:17). Abraham was one hundred years old when Isaac was born. Through him God would complete His goals for calling Abraham (Gen_12:1-3). He was the son of Abraham through whom God would bless the nations and keep His covenant and promises to Abraham (Gen_21:8-10; Gen_25:1-6). His birth was a special act of God (Gen_21:1-7). His preservation as the promised son was as much a miracle or more as his birth (Gen. 22). His wife Rebekah, a woman picked by God (Gen. 24), bore him Jacob, the father of the twelve patriarchs (Gen. 24; Gen_25:21-26). He fell prey to Jacob and Rebekah's scheming and blessed Jacob instead of Esau with the birthright blessing (Gen_27:1-33).

God can create laughter, joy, where otherwise there would be none (Gen_21:6). It may have sexual, licentious overtones (Exo_32:6).
